Who started the fib that Atlantic City is just a gambling town? If you aren’t from the area, you may have believed this tale. So let’s address the elephant in the room. Yes, there are casinos. However, Atlantic City has tons of activities for families to enjoy - from an indoor waterpark to arcades to escape rooms and more. If you need to use up some free time during annual conference, here are our picks for family-friendly activities around town to check out.

Dave & Buster’s
Location: Tanger Outlets
Just down the street from the Sheraton, within the Tanger Outlets, you will find the newly opened Dave & Buster’s. This 21,000 square feet entertainment space launches in December 2023 with a giant arcade, restaurant, and big flat-screen TVs. Just like other Dave & Buster’s locations, you can expect plenty of fun for children and adults alike. If you are staying in the Sheraton, we recommend just walking since this arcade is only a couple of blocks away.
Island Waterpark
Location: Showboat Hotel
This year, Atlantic City welcomed the opening of its first waterpark! Even better, Island Waterpark is indoors, so you can experience this tropical paradise any time of the year. Enjoy 11 water attractions, including slides and a lazy river. There are also restaurants inside but we suggest eating before you go to save money. Also, check the prices in advance. You may be able to snag a good entry price since the summer season hasn’t come yet.

Lucky Snake Arcade
Location: Showboat Hotel
Lucky Snake is the biggest arcade in the world and that’s no surprise. From the arcade floor to go karts to mini-golf to roller skating to bowling, this place is jam-packed with things to do. There are also restaurants in the arcade if you’d rather eat while the kids play.

Miniature Golf
Locations: The Inlet, Lucky Snake Arcade, Near Boardwalk Hall
Enjoy mini-golf indoors at Lucky Snake Arcade or outdoors at the Inlet or on the Boardwalk, if weather permits. We have great options in the city to enjoy a whimsical path through the mini-golf trails. Get your skills up and putt away!

Escape Rooms
Locations: Tanger Outlets and Tropicana
For 60 minutes, your family can build memories and work together while you figure out how to escape the room. We would recommend this experience for teens and up but younger children can participate if the parents allow. The escape success rate is only about 25% though. Can you crack the code?
Boardwalk Stroll
Location: Atlantic City Boardwalk
There’s nothing like a breezy stroll on the world’s longest boardwalk. Since it’s still cold out, many of the eateries and shops will be closed. However, this is still a great way to get some steps in, release some energy and take in some fresh air by the Atlantic Ocean.
